Graduated in 2023 from Stellenbosch University with a BA -Visual Arts in Jewellery Design and Manufacture
I have been very fortunate to have been able to spend a few months, during my studies, developing my jewellery skills at Studio 39.
Through Kim's expert guidance, I was able to learn many hands-on practical skills that I had not yet been exposed to in my studies. I helped execute sales, review stock, set up and maintain displays, advertise products via social media, design and manufacture my own pieces, as well as replicate a costume ring that a client wanted remade in gold. Kim has instilled an attitude in me that "anything is possible!". She always pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I am incredibly grateful for that. Her years of manufacturing and sales experience make her an excellent teacher who only wants to see you succeed. Not only this, but her humanity and attitude towards her craft only betters this beautiful learning environment.
I am very grateful for this opportunity and could not have been granted a better place, with honourable jewellers, to have had this experience! If you are lucky enough to get the opportunity to experience Kim's mentorship, please jump at it!
